Chilli Sambuca

Sambuca originates from Italy. It is usually colourless and tastes of anise, which comes from the essential oils obtained from star anise, Illicium verum.

The Italian word Sambuca was first used as the name of another anise-based liquor that was created in Civitavecchia around 1880 and the first commercial version of the drink started at the end of 1800 in Civitavecchia thanks to Luigi Manzi who went on to start Sambuca Manzi, which is still in production today.
